Princess Luna & FlitterHeart

A while ago, I happened to find the set that had the tiny Princess Luna in it. She wasn't on the top of my wishlist but still a lovely addition. I love her glittery horn. :)
I only wished she had her own face mould instead of having her eyes just stuck on top of some other character's mould's eyeholes. They look a bit dumb in real life even if they don't show in photo.
She's also stuck with always looking behind her, with both eyes simultaneously. Haha! Oh well, I still like her in my collection.

I posed her with Flitterheart as their colours matched so nicely.

Glass Eyes & a Box

I ordered some cheap glass eyes from eBay so my new dolls wouldn't be eyeless when they arrive. Turns out I also got what I paid for. The irises of the eyes aren't all that even with their colours and on one golden eye the pupil isn't in the center of the eyeball. I wonder how obvious those flaws will be once they're inside the doll's head? Anyway, not a big loss in the end, and am sure they'll serve their purpose ok till I find better eyes to replace these ones.

A while ago, I found the prettiest box for my doll tools and accessories. Isn't it lovely?

Just looking at it makes me all excited about collecting all these things for dolls, bit by bit. I've grown a habit of opening and closing it just to admire its details. It's quite handy too! It has two "floors" of storage space with tiny compartments and the top "floor" is removable. There's also a mirror, which makes me think this box's original idea was to be a make-up box. I hope it doesn't feel too bad about being something else.

Furby 2012

This time I'm going to talk about Furbies.
When they first came out in 1998 I thought they were the best thing ever. This was when my family didn't have any pets yet so a Furby seemed like the next best thing to a real animal at the time. I had one that was grey with black spots and a pink belly and hair. Looked like this.
Should see if she still hides somewhere around my family's house. We went totally Furby mad with my sister back then and ended up having 4 of these guys in total among us two. Two adult Furbies and two baby ones. Oh boy did we have fun with them! Until they started making buzzing noises and leaking some sorta oil... That was the end of Furbydom. I have a feeling we might have kept one or two though so should go look for one next time I'm in Finland!

Anyway, I only heard about the reboot of the Furby toys about a week ago from a friend of mine and have been totally hyped about Furbies ever since. I can't wait till September! And sure hope they'll come out for sale in September in the UK too because other wise I'll be ridiculously jealous of all the American kids owning one. Haha.
I mean, just look at the video of the new Furby! Don't they look fun? I'm totally saving up for one already and am having hard time deciding between the black and the orange ones.

ABJ dolls

I keep meaning to write about other toys and figures I collect and photograph but I've never gotten around to actually doing something about this. This post will change everything!

I've been collecting Asian ball-jointed dolls since early 2004 and own 6 full dolls at the moment. The amount has changed quite a lot during the years and the most dolls I had at the same time was 12, if I remember correctly. I've then shrunk my collection to include only my absolute favourite ones so I have more time for each one of them. :) Since I moved to England, the doll hobby went on a bit of a hiatus for a couple of years and am slowly coming back to the hobby, with fresh new energy!

I'm currently waiting for two new dolls to arrive. They're petite sized girl dolls with split hooves as their feet. I'm really looking forward to adding them to my lovely collection of dolls. :) In the mean time, I've gathering essential items for them. Like glass eyes, wigs, clothes and new rubber strings to replace the ones they come with. I just got their wigs in the mail today and am SO excited to have something arrive in the mail already! The wigs were made by a fellow Finn at the Finnish doll forum, Hartsilapset.

Even the wrapping of the wigs was lovely!

The doll on the photo above is one of my favourite dolls, named Oliver Keijuhäntä. Her model is Fancyboots' Liebchen and she was made by a hobbyist instead of an Asian doll company. She's very precious.
Her makeup is done by Jesmoth, who's a multi-talented friend of mine.

I will be posting more fun doll-related photos in the future, as well as more My Little Pony related stuff. And possibly photos and stories of other toys and figures I've collected during the years. (There's loads!)
